Lone Peak vs GFC (Go Fast Campers)

See why more adventurers choose Lone Peak.

The short version

The Lone Peak Camper V2 starts at $7,000 — roughly $4,000 less than the GFC MAX at $10,950 — and includes the features most adventurers want as standard, not paid upgrades: a T-slot accessory frame, lift-away bed platform, 4" dual-density mattress, black-out tent, and our positive-pressure Dust Killer vent — all backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the frame, where GFC covers two years. If you want a capable wedge camper that gets you on the trail faster and for thousands less, Lone Peak is built for you.

The #1 reason owners choose us

A lift-away bed platform that opens up your living space

With the tent deployed, the Lone Peak bed platform lifts away to transform the camper into open, stand-up living space — room to change, cook, and move around instead of crawling over a fixed bed.

It's a feature GFC doesn't offer: their platform is fixed, so the space you set up with is the space you're stuck with. Aside from price, it's the most common reason adventurers pick Lone Peak.

See the difference in the field

Same goal — basecamp anywhere. Two very different builds. Here's where Lone Peak pulls ahead on living space and structure.

Go Fast Campers MAX style wedge camper with a diagonal cross-support strut bracing the bed rack. Cross-support strut required

Go Fast Campers MAX

Braced, and boxed in

Diagonal cross-support struts are needed to hold the platform rigid, and they cut across the side door openings — limiting which accessories you can run and making gear harder to reach. The tent footprint also stops at the platform, with no rear extension to grow the covered area.

A 30" pass-through for real standing room

The pass-through is the open space between the end of the bed platform and the back of the camper — the gap you step up through from the truck bed. A wider one means room to stand and move around, not just crawl in.

20 inches, and it's fixed

The GFC MAX pass-through measures 20 inches — a third less room between the platform and the rear wall. And since the GFC platform doesn't lift, that's all the space you get; there's no way to open it up.

Why adventurers choose Lone Peak

The features that turn a topper into a true basecamp come standard on the V2 — not as line items that quietly inflate your final price.

More included, out of the box

The T-Slot Frame ready for accessories, lift-away platform, upgraded mattress, and black-out tent are standard. Elsewhere, several of these are paid add-ons that push your out-the-door price well past the sticker.

Thousands less for a comparable build

Starting at $7,000, the V2 leaves room in your budget for the truck, the trip, and the gear — not just the camper.

Get out there faster

A roughly 15-second setup and a nationwide network of certified install partners mean less time in the driveway and more time on the trail.

Cleaner sleep, cleaner air

Our positive-pressure Dust Killer vent keeps fine trail dust out of your tent — a small detail that matters after a long day on washboard roads.

Backed for the long haul

Every Lone Peak frame carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects, with a 2-year warranty on the tent, accessories, and baseline components. GFC backs its campers for two years — we stand behind the frame for life.

Which camper is right for you?

An honest take — because the right call depends on what you value most.

GFC helped define the modern wedge camper and has a long track record and a large owner community. If brand history is your top priority, they've earned their reputation.

Where Lone Peak wins is value and what's included: you get the core wedge camper features as standard, a faster path to ownership through our nationwide network of certified install partners, and a starting price several thousand dollars lower. If you want the most capability per dollar without nickel-and-diming the build, Lone Peak is the better fit.

What owners are saying

Real builds, real trails — here's what Lone Peak owners have to say.

★★★★★
Highly recommend Lone Peak! The V2 transformed my Toyota Tacoma TRD OR 4x4 into the perfect overland setup. The cab pass-through and rear window access are game changers for convenience and airflow, and the Gear Vault with dual tables is a must have for storage and camp organization. Excellent build quality, smart design, and a very functional setup overall. Definitely built by people who understand camping and overlanding. Proud to run this setup with the SoCal Boondocks Overland crew.

Loving it so far. Build quality is top notch, and all the folks at the shop have been so great to deal with. It's been perfect for our family of 3. Easy setup and tear down to get on with your next adventure. If you're on the fence about an overland topper buy a Lone Peak, you won't be disappointed!
