How the race works
Gear Drops are a multi-waypoint adventure race — the winner takes home the prize pack. This one is designed to be accessible for all Overland Expo MTN West attendees.
Join the drop
Create a Trailhead account, save the app to your home screen, and join Gear Drop 011 ahead of time to secure your spot.
Head to the booth
Show up to the Lone Peak Booth at Overland Expo MTN West by 1:15 PM on Saturday, August 22. Come early — the race starts on time.
Wait for the start
When the host flips the event to live, you'll be prompted to start the race. Nobody moves until the drop goes live.
Race the waypoints
Each waypoint reveals a photo or text task when you're close enough. Complete it to unlock the next — first to finish every waypoint wins.
What you need to participate
Trailhead account
Create a Trailhead account, save the app to your home screen, and keep location services on so waypoint tasks reveal as you get close.
Expo access
This drop is designed to be accessible for all Overland Expo MTN West attendees — just make your way to the Lone Peak Booth.
Race rules
Meet at the Lone Peak Booth at the event start time.
When the host flips the event to live, you'll be prompted to start the race.
Each waypoint — including the start point — has photo or text requirements that are only revealed when you're close enough. Keep location services on.
Once a waypoint's requirements are complete, the next waypoint becomes visible.
The first person to complete all waypoints wins the prize pack.
