Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve been hooked on the outdoors since my feet first hit the ground. What some people call “hobbies,” I call a lifestyle. From surfing to mountaineering, fishing to hunting — nothing recharges me more than being outside.

On a hunting trip near Mount Rainier National Park, the way I adventure changed forever. After spending a week chasing Roosevelt elk, we rode our dirt bikes back to a gut-wrenching sight: my truck’s windows smashed, my motorcycle trailer stolen, and my rooftop tent literally sawed off at each corner of the rack.

After the initial shock wore off, I started thinking about what I actually wanted from my next setup. I didn’t like that I couldn’t stand up in my tent, and every time we brought the kids along I was rigging a tarp underneath the RTT just to protect them from the elements. There were no lights. No heat. Too many compromises.

With my background in product design, I went to work solving my own problems. I built a prototype and started sharing it with the overland community. The response was overwhelming. That momentum led us to start a company and open pre-orders to turn the idea into reality.

That was the fall of 2022.
