Truck Setup
Factory (RHO)
How has the camper changed the way you adventure?
This is actually our first rooftop tent. Set up is fast and easy! Even in gas stations where others walk up and want to see, just pull out lock pins and give it a shove. I feel like I have sold at least two since driving around with it on. We went through two storms, even though I had to fish the strap to pull top down off of the top of the tent, it held up well, both from wedge into wind and straight from the side. Only issue I had was one strut came loose enough to slip down a bit so back door would not open fully. Easy fix, just loosen, and raise it up and tighten. The Rho can't haul much in bed, so the weight of Loan peak is perfect! I haven't quite jumped it with loan peak on, but have come REALLY close, and the topper just sits right where it is supposed to! The RHO actually gets better mileage driving around back gravel roads than it does on the road, Butt my mileage hasn't dropped noticeably on Road with the loan peak on. Loan peaks design that allows two foot behind bed and still in the bed of the truck is great! My wife no longer has to wait to use the toilet, Just pull over and closer her inside! I am looking forward to NOT having my bed full of snow this winter when just driving to work and back! Probably how light the whole thing is what allows me to have it on the RHO. Ease of set up takes all the worry out of getting to a camp site too late. How flat it is on truck is a huge benefit also! The positive air system works amazing! Least favorite would be how much more noise when driving at road speeds. I also miss my full glass rooftop in cab. (not really a loan peak issue!)
